Artificial Intelligence Lesson 5 of 8

Day 4: Generate Video Clips and Direct Motion

45:00 7 Days of AI Video Generation

The video for this lesson is not available yet.

Use image-to-video or text-to-video tools to create short clips with deliberate movement, camera direction, and pacing.

Lesson notes

Video generation adds movement to your visual plan. Keep each clip short and focus your prompt on what moves, how it moves, and whether the camera is still or moving. Results can vary between generations, so select clips based on usefulness and coherence rather than novelty.

What you'll learn

  • Describe the motion and camera movement separately from the scene
  • Generate short clips that can be reviewed and replaced independently
  • Check motion, continuity, and visual artefacts before editing

Direct one clear motion

Describe the primary subject movement first, then any secondary environmental motion and camera movement. Avoid asking for many unrelated actions or rapid scene changes in a single clip.

Review continuity

Check that subjects and important objects remain recognisable throughout the clip. Watch for abrupt motion, changing details, flicker, and unwanted transitions. Shortening the clip or simplifying the action may help.

Practice exercise

Create and review a short clip

Animate one approved visual asset into a short clip. Save your preferred result and note one issue you would improve in another generation.

Hint: Compare clips against the storyboard: motion should help the scene communicate its intended purpose.
